The “Esperanto and Art” Prize, organised by Esperanto NSW, is given to an artist who creatively uses the international language Esperanto as an inspiration or element in their artistic work.
The competition aims to encourage artists to explore the cultural values of Esperanto – international friendship, intercultural dialogue and respect between peoples – through their art.
Special attention will be given to works that:
- integrate Esperanto words, phrases or symbols into the artistic concept
- reflect the ideals of international communication and cooperation
- show an original and creative interpretation of the Esperanto theme.
The organisers wish to honour the spirit of the language created by L. L. Zamenhof, and at the same time inspire new forms of cultural and artistic dialogue.
